About the job Valuation Associate / Senior AssociateFor one of our prestigious clients, a leader in the Energy sector, we are seeking an Associate Investment Valuation to be based in Muscat, Oman.Role objective:
  • Build Financial models and carry-on investment evaluation exercises, and support identification, assessment, and execution of new business opportunities.
Individual accountabilities/duties:
  • Develop and maintain fully fledged financial model for the assessment of the companies assets and potential investment opportunities
  • Provide in-depth economic evaluation for existing assets and investment opportunities, including proper analysis of fiscal terms and commercial arrangements and present it to the companys management and stakeholders
  • Support the asset management team on financial assessment and valuations of business opportunities
  • Review financial models prepared by external parties and transfer them to the companies modeling standard, if required
  • Lead the execution of investment deals and analyze and identify new business leads both locally and internationally
  • Ensure investment prospects align with strategic priorities, strengthens portfolio and aligns with market trends and competitor landscape
  • Co-develop and establish Investment Guidelines, Processes and Manuals
  • Synthesize investment recommendations in a deliverable format for the companies executive management and Board
  • Collaborate with Treasury unit to define project financing terms for approved investments
  • Develop and manage corporate planning models and coordinate with the companies subsidiaries to get the input required to run the financial model and any analysis required
  • Support on the planning cycle, and engage in the business plan preparation
  • Support on the budgeting process, and liaise with accounting and reporting unit to reconcile budget forecast with actuals
  • Guide and train junior members of the team on all financial modeling matters to establish the skill lset across the team
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience/qualifications needed
  • Bachelor's degree is required, CFA or equivalent professional certificates are preferable
  • Over 5 years experience in Investment, new business development / M&A positions
  • Proven track record of identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Strong track record in M&A and investment execution
  • Strong understanding of energy market developments and future opportunities
  • Excellent communication and people skills including experience in managing external stakeholders including clients, investors, sellers and banks
  • Ability to think critically, analyze data, and solve complex problems
  • Strong Financial Modeling, and mastery in Excel
